Jesus wept.
This verse from John, chapter 11, is popular for being the shortest verse in the Bible. Two ladies from the town of Bethany sought out the Messiah to tell him that Lazarus was sick and needed a healing. When Jesus finally arrived to Bethany, he found that Lazarus had died and was in a tomb. The people were in mourning. Jesus was moved and joined in the mourning. Then, Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. How ecstatic the people of Bethany must have been upon witnessing such a miraculous event. Across the land a fervor must have swept – with the miracles of Messiah being its heartbeat…
